35SC at Regal

Well stopped in the Factory Showroom today... Got to see the new 35 Sports Coupe, and its wedged between the 52SC and 46SC so it looks tiny!

Very nice with the fully enclosed cockpit... Looks like it will be a good seller...

What is the beam of that boat? It looks very narrow in the pics. Is that a replacement for what is now called the 38 express or 3760 from yrs past? If it is the cabin doesn't look like to much of an upgrade. I like my private door in the master bedroom.

Looks too square to me. All these square edges in the new models..... just not sure. I am a creature of habit thou I also don't like the cars now days that are all squared up as well. :?

No the 38 Express (3760) is still there as well. It’s just a smaller version of the enclosed cockpit coupe. From what I understand, even though I haven't seen official pricing yet on it, was just released a week ago, the cost will be a bit higher than the 38E about $350K range. It uses stern drives, with the joystick.

I am not sure what the actual sizes are, there wasn't any info on it. Some of that was because of my wide angle lens, but it does look cute between the two big boats. I hope that Regal will actually post information on their website soon, as it takes them so long to do that. One interesting thing that I did notice was that the HIN was that it was that it was built July 2010 as a 2012 model. (F012)

The squareness is just like cars, and goes though cycles. It will go from square to round and then back every decade or so, I guess we are back to our square look now.
Thanks, Chris

I think that placing that boat between the 46 and 52 was not a smart marketing move.

The cockpit seems bland and boring. The cabin doesn't appear very warm or welcoming. I love the larger SCs but this is a miss, IMO.

Chris,

Did you enjoy the tour? I actually thought about going there after the holiday. I wish they were still making the 3860. I would love to see the process.

Its interesting how styles come and go. I had a 1994 Signature 29 Chaparral that had a similar cabin lay out. To gain access to the front berth you had to climb over the sofa, just like this boat.

I didn't take the tour, as they aren't running it this week. So just to the factory showroom. I wanted to see the new SC models, so it was good. Also seeing the new 3060 was good too to see what has changed. Also some speaker placement ideas too.

Few things of note on the cruisers:

All Fusion based stereos now, although the exact model changes with the boat model. From the IP600 to the AV600. All have fusion speakers now, as well as they have the Fusion subwoofer that is mounted in the cockpit. Multiple remotes for the stereo as well (most have two), helm and transom.

All Garmin electronics, although I knew they changed. However all boats in showroom had VHF100 radio installed.

All have Johnson bilge alarms now.

Some models don't have the push button latches on the cabinets, just standard cabinet hardware with hidden latches.

All are using Samsung TV's now, as well as the NESA DVD1002 DVD players (although the older model without the SD/USB inputs).

All showroom boats have VP engines, and no more Faria gauges, all EVC based VP gauges. Still have Faria depth gauge.
Thanks, Chris

Is that swim platform in the first pic as big as it looks, or is that just the camera angle? Is it included in the 35' length? Nice looking boat.

Yes I have some 3060 pics as well I can post in a seperate topic.

The swim platform is pretty large which is nice. I would have liked to see the engine room but didn't.
Thanks, Chris

I have enjoyed my past Regals but have to agree with Anne, this is a miss.

I jumped brands and went to a Maxum 3700 SCR and the 13' beam allows for plenty of space, inside and out. People joked and said I was going down the quality ladder but to be honest, after climbing in every nook and cranny the Maxum is built just as well as the Regal's of that year. It is designed very well. The genny will come out without removing anything, both the fresh and black tanks as well as the water heater and vacu-flush can be removed with ease. All sides of the engine are easily accessible. You can even pull both the 124 gallon aluminum fuel takes as well as both AC/heat units. The wiring is all color coded and numbered. The used the same name brand suppliers.

I did install a Fusion IP600 with 2 wired remotes and love it.

My first cruiser was a Maxum 2300 SCR. It was the largest 23' boat I have ever seen. Its a 93 model and still looks great. I sold it to a friend and we are still friends. I don't believe the hype about only certain brands are of any real quality. There are many quality brands out there.

Here's some more pictures of the new 35SC from the dealer meeting. I was told this is the first 35SC and was finished 2 days before the dealer meeting. She's going out on sea trials and for tweaking as I type.

You really have to see this boat in person to appreciate it. The cabin is huge for a 35' and offers plenty of seating and sleeping space. The cockpit is nice and plenty big for the boat's size. So far, my customers are very anxious to see it.

Sorry for the picture quality, I didn't have my good camera on me.

Specs:
LOA: 35'2"
Beam: 11'4"
Deadrise: 19 deg
Approx Dry Weight: 13,600 LBS
Draft: 35"
Fuel: 168 Gal
Frehwater: 50 Gal
Waste: 30 Gal
